Friday

I can't go into the weekend with yesterday's post as my last of the week... I know I wasnt too grateful yesterday, but I have to say my day ended so much better than it started and I'd like to blame at least a little of these mood swings on dear Aiden co inhabiting my body...

2 things that made yesterday spectacular are the fact that mr. f got home from his on call shift at the hospital 2 hours earlier than predicted...and the heat finally broke and we didnt need the AC on! it was amazing!

Today has been a bit tough, but not for all the reasons of yesterday's coffee debacle. I think I may be dealing with some pregnancy induced anemia thanks to all that extra blood volume. I'm getting more sleep in my life than I ever have and yet feel utterly exhausted from doing nothing. Not to mention the weakness all over. I'm generally not all that into red meat, but tonight I think we're doing hamburgers just in case.

I also found out that in 2 weeks at my family reunion, my Aunts are having a small baby shower with just the girls while all the guys hang out outside around the keg (yes, with 30 of us immediate Aunts Uncles and cousins on my mom's side alone, a keg is indeed the more economical and earth friendly way to go!...just think about all those aluminum cans or glass bottles...) However, I digress... My cousin called to ask where I'm registered...um riiight. So I immediately got on line to start a babies r us registry and feel so in over my head. I mean, how many burping clothes do I need, and what stroller is the right one etc. I have actually started to stop other moms on the street to ask if they like their strollers out of sheer desperation. Its a good thing I'm actually looking pretty preggers, otherwise it might be creepy...

This all has a point, I promise... for all of you moms out there, what is something you found you couldnt live without or wish you had received when your babies were born? I'm due in Nov., if the season makes a difference. Any advice is welcome!!

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

May be more for you than for the baby, but I saw this on a blog today: http://www.ingridandisabel.com/bellaband.html
They def. sell them on Amazon too and the blog talked about it more as a way to support your belly and ease any discomfort from stretch. But the offical site of the product seems to be billing it as a fashion accessory...hmm. Anyway, I know my dance teacher in middle school had something similar and I recall her describing it as "indispensable."

Oh and since I already have, you know 5 kids and know everything...get a food processor! My one boss that does actually have a baby said that with her little boy, it was SO much more cost efficient to make the baby food. All you need is a food processor and little containers to freeze it in. She said that he started to go through SO MUCH jar food she started making most of his food and keeping jars on hand just to travel with.

-a sling. My husband loved it to take LC on walks to get her to go to sleep.

-thin baby washcloths--perfect for all those wrinkles!

-sleep blanket bags. No worrying about SIDs.

-BornFree bottles (even if you're breastfeeding)

-a GREAT pump. No hand pumps need apply.

-a GREAT digital camera.

-food processor and ice trays (for freezing food)--I still make LC's food. There's a great website too for more info: www.wholesomebabyfood.com

-lots of rags. We have "cloth diapers" that are just perfect for it.

-Nursing tops. Essential.

Hope that helps!

Oh, and I have a bugaboo, but I secretly kind of wish we'd had an Orbit system--car seat-->toddler. Awesome.
