I'm baaaackk!

Whew, it has only been about 10 days, but so much has happened!

We went to my parents' house in VA for the better part of last week and spent lots of quality time with my parents and Mr. F's mom. We went swimming and Aidan even got a little tan! He had a ball watching the big kids swimming and tried as hard as he could to kick his legs and move his arms...he even made a valiant attempt to put his face in the water! Needless to say, the kid looooves bath time!

While at home my college roommate came to visit with her daughter to celebrate my birthday. We had a blast and once again realized how much we wish we lived near each other. Richmond and Philly just arent that close :( I love my friends in Philly, but I could really use a friend or two who has a kid, someone who would understand that an offer to get drinks at 9pm on a Thursday night just wont be accepted without a 3 day advance notice (if that) or there is nothing impromptu happening near nap or bedtime. Sighhh.

Aidan has also learned how to do "So Big". Let me just say, its the most adorable thing I've ever seen. You say, "Aidan, how big are you?" and this chubby little arms shoot up as he waits for you to say "So Big!" Which, of course, is immediately followed by a round of clapping initiated by him in celebration of his accomplishment. every time. I'll work on getting video of that :)

This past weekend I also headed down to DC for a bridal shower and despite arriving over an hour late, thank you Philly traffic, I had a great dinner and caught up with old friends. And who can resist a pumpkin ale beer?

For my birthday, Mr. F really outdid himself this year. He bought me a food processor! I am soooo excited. He sheepishly gave it to me promising there would be sentimental gifts in the future when we have an income, but I think last night I proved just how happy I was to have it, making him time me chop whole peppers and onions. I even made fresh guac. I. am. in. love. (with him and the processor!)

Finally, I found out I didnt get either job I interviewed for and will be staying home full time with Aidan. I'm so excited, but cant shake the guilty feeling of having this great degree and not using it, not to mention the financial strain...but I am just going to focus on what a blessing I've been given with this gift of time with my son. Not to mention I know our house will be a great deal calmer with only one of us working full time.

So, thats the quick update, at least all that I can remember right now. Happy Monday, everyone!
