Today

Today has been one of those days you crave on a busy day and loathe when it actually happens... I am pretty caught up at work and have checked my email, facebook and the blogs of all my friends about 50 million times and created TWO blog posts in one day. This lack of activity is NO GOOD. I have time to realize how uncomfortable my desk chair is, dream up all of things I'd like to go shopping for, and plot how I'm going to maneuver $ around to pay off the credit card bills and put $ into savings and pay my student loans. I also have had plenty of time to think about how much I'm ready to have another baby (no, this is not an announcement said baby is on its way...I'm just saying I am soooo ready). Alas, residency is putting a damper on that right now...Dr. F is officially on call on our anniversary and my birthday this year...Christmas remains to be seen. Awesome.

Today has also give me plenty of time to think about this terrible article in the free commuter paper yesterday. It was an interview with the creator of a website whose motto is "Life's short, have an affair." It was despicable and it was even worse how much the guy thought he was doing nothing wrong. I can't believe he thinks he's doing nothing wrong profiteering on the breakdown of marriages and families. The creator claims the US is too puritanical and way behind Western Europe with our views on marriage and sexuality. Well, if general outrage at his antics and beliefs is behind, count me in. I fully understand sometimes marriages must end for the mental and physical health of all involved, however to flaunt the idea that having an affair is a harmless recreational activity...?

Anyway, has anyone else heard of this crap and what are your thoughts?

That's DESPICABLE! I haven't read the article, but I've heard of this mentality before. NOT COOL. Knowing that no marriage is perfect, I also know that my marriage (and loving my husband) is a choice I make every single day. And I look forward to doing it forever! :) Sorry today was such a bummer...and sorry I wasn't able to update my blog (um, what blog??) for your reading pleasure. Maybe tomorrow!

While I'm all for people making their marriage work in the way that will be most successful for them, I am pretty not ok with affairs within marriage. As in, not at all ok. I'm getting angrier and angrier just thinking about it.

On a more cheerful note, since we're both having baby fever and can't do anything about it yet, maybe we should revel in our non-pregnant states and meet up for happy hour instead of coffee? Thoughts? :)

There is nothing cool about an affair. And nothing cool about thinking it's acceptable in a marriage. I know that for some folks an open marriage works, but at least then there's so semblance of...honesty. With an affair, the POINT is to be sneaky! I hate sneaky.

Additionally, a. I'm surprised it took y'all this long to realize you're practically neighbors and b. I'm so envious I could scream and c. have one for me:)

Speaking of Happy Hour, Do you know Anna has NEVER gone wine tasting? I am appalled and think we should kidnap you for a Saturday in Oct or Nov to remedy this situation. And all of the above commentors should join as it would be very nice to see or meet (as applicable) you in real life! :P Especially you, Sarah, you know the one who lives oh, 10 miles from me...:)
