Nook vs. Kindle smackdown

Sooo, my birthday is still a few months off, but I've been kicking around the idea of asking for an ereader for quite some time. I commute every day on the train and I love the idea of an ereader. The prices keep coming down and I dont have any strong feelings about getting a color screen or particular brand, so I'm turning to you for input. I just read this review and found it pretty helpful, if not a bit outdated. I think I'm leaning toward the Kindle, but could easily be swayed... thoughts?

NOOK COLOR! I looooooooove mine! I read a lot on it, but I also check my blogs, email, play around on the internet and play with my very mature apps (Bejewled is my fav).

Looooove it. Also, you can lend books to other people really easily....which is a pro when you're a speedy reader....or just cheap.

Check and see what your library supports. I know Arl. is only supporting the Nook right now, but should be supporting the Kindle pretty soon. Can you get a nook app and kindle app on your phone and kind of "test drive" them?

The cases for the Nook are totally cuter, but I'm shallow that way.

I looooove my Kindle, but readily admit that I know nothing about how the two compare. Honestly, you'll probably love whatever you get, because BOOKS! EVERYWHERE! ANYTIME! CHEAP(ER)!
