welcome to miami

Per usual things are moving along in 5th gear in our house... we are tackling the seemingly overwhelming challenge of packing for the big move. So far the pictures are bubble wrapped and boxed and the bookshelves are boxed. I've started on the kitchen and we're working on selling our big wooden bed frame (it was a hand-me-down and totally not my style...see below). Mr. F is also finishing up a chapter he wrote for a soon to be published medical book and we're in the final stages of pulling together the last details of our blessing next week. I'm SO excited.

Those last details include the South Beach diet (for Mr. F & I) and nightly applications of self-tanner lotion (you know, the kind in body lotion that gradually takes effect) because I REFUSE to fake n bake. We're also using teeth whitening strips to get picture perfect. We are a hot bed of vanity these days :)

Aidan is also growing up so fast and I cant believe he'll be 18 mos this month. How the heck did that happen?! I've tried to capture him on film, but he just moves so fast! He's also really enjoying our packing endeavors as he's learned how to climb and loves moving box forts. This morning I was pointing to my belly telling Aidan thats where he used to live (the kid is obsessed with bellies). He promptly told me "baba (belly)! poop!" We couldnt stop laughing... maybe we'll be potty training soon!

Additionally, I'm so happy to report I GOT A JOB!!! I can't believe it, but its true:) I start mid-june and am beyond excited to be able see money coming in instead of just going out... there wont be much left after day care and student loans, but it doesnt matter :) I hope everyone is loving this beautiful weather as much as we are!

Happy May Day

Its a beautiful day and Mr. F and I are in the south for a wedding for Mr. F's college roommate. We also happen to be baby-less as the Little Man is at camp grandma and grandpa for 2 nights! Dont get me wrong, I miss him like crazy, but taking the opportunity to enjoy breakfast on the campus of Mr. F's alma mater on a beautiful lazy saturday morning is a luxury we arent too accustomed to. Last night was the rehearsal dinner and it was a fun bluegrass themed garden party with a live bluegrass band. SO much fun and I really felt like I was at southern party. This afternoon we're heading off to the ceremony and I'll be rocking a pre-baby dress! More pictures to come! In the mean time, here is a fun video of Aidan breaking it down :)

hump day

The last few days have been a whirlwind of fun beginning with my pseudo-bachelorette party in DC. It started with awesome margaritas and Mexican food and ended with dancing at a club where we felt like middle school dance chaperons. A great time was had by all and I'm so thankful for such wonderful friends; the kind of friends that will make you a penis-shaped rice crispy treat. :)

Today was also very exciting in a different way, I had an interview for a well-known non-profit. I got a lot of positive feed-back and was asked to come back for a second interview. Please keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer. I have faith that everything will work out as it should, but I'm hopeful and excited about this possibility.

Looking forward things are great. We have a wedding for Anthony's college roommate next weekend and our own marriage blessing in a few weeks so we're getting all the final details for that set. (you may remember our small intimate wedding 2 years ago that was only immediate family, but now we're having a blessing in the Church and a party with friends and extended family!!) In addition, we're down to under a month till closing and I'm chomping at the bit to start packing. I even bought 12 space saving bags. YESSSSS!!!

VACATION!!

We're finally settling in to Mr. F's vacation month and its fantastic! We both made it to the gym every day last week and we're beat, but so wonderful. Aidan has also been getting lots of daddy time and we're getting the house stuff more and more settled with the million of mortgage documents etc. Its alot of work, but I know it will be so worth it.

We also spent Easter week at home visiting our parents and had a great time.




We also made a quick 18 hr trip to Richmond so Mr. F could have his teeth cleaned by his sister who is a dentist. Aidan and I visited my college roommate and checked out the Children's Museum, which was awesome and I totally wish there was something like it in Philly.



And finally, we capped off the week with the wedding of two of our good friends.




I've also been applying to jobs like a madwoman and finally have an interview next week. I'm excited and nervous, but hopeful.

Movin on up!

I cant believe its already March 25! The days and weeks are absolutely flying by, but maybe thats because we've been so busy. In addition to just trying to keep up with the Little Man, I've been working on some research for a professor (which I just want that project to end...ughh), Mr. F is finishing up medical school, and we are under contract on a house!!! We finished negotiations yesterday and just have to wait until the end of May for closing. HOOORAY! I'm actually going to have a laundry room and LM will have a back yard. Of course, we've already begun shopping for a grill for Mr. F. Just the thought of having his and hers closets instead of the 3 of us in one tiny closet gets me all giddy :)

Additionally, over the last few weeks Mr. F has basically hit the culmination of months and years of medical school. Tomorrow is his last official day of class until graduation in May! Last week was also incredibly busy because he was the chair of planning an all day conference capped off by a fancy pants banquet that evening. The event couldnt have gone better and I'm so proud of him! Last week was also the national Match Day when all 4th year medical students find out where they got in for residency. Mr. F found out back in Jan. where he was going for ophthalmology, but we did find out he'd be staying in Philly for internship, which was great because our offer on the house was contingent on his match.

Over the last few weeks we also attended an annual fund raising ball and had well, a ball!



And of course, LM is getting so big! He's talking up a storm and becoming more a little boy than baby every day.



All in all, life is pretty great here in Philly. In the upcoming weeks Mr. F and I are going to concentrate on me getting a job, packing (and throwing out as much junk as possible!), and getting to the gym more often. And obviously, I hope to make keep this blog up with more regularity than I've managed in the last few weeks.
