All I want for Christmas...

...is my two front teeth! Aidan's 2nd tooth cut through yesterday so now he's got his two bottom front teeth! I knew it was coming on account of the copious amounts of drool the last few days and the extra touch of cranky.

We had a pretty great weekend and our collective productivity never ceases to amaze me when we plan our activities, such as grocery shopping and meal planning. The heat has definitely been pretty miserable and those little window ac units are working overtime...and driving up our bill...but what can you do? I'm so thankful we dont have to pay for heat in the winter so I know our bill will slide back down once it starts to cool off.

Mr. F is pretty obsessed with the movie The Big Lebowski and I hadn't seen it so over the course of 3 nights (yes it took that long because one or both of us kept falling asleep), we finally finished it. I have to admit, its pretty funny and if I get a job, we're heading to Lebowski Fest at the end of September. Its a traveling festival and its coming to Philly! I'm pretty sure I earn major good wife points for agreeing to attend :)

So anyway, its Monday and I've got 2 weeks left of my internship. We're settled in the dog days of summer and I'm cleaning out my closet and selling lots of things on ebay... and just because it makes me happy, here are a few new pictures of Mr. Bug :)

I'm all ears

Does anyone have any ideas about good work from home jobs? And our apartment is too small for me to babysit another child.

Getting Funky

This morning I woke up to a crummy day, no sun anywhere, but after yesterday's oppressive heat, I'll take a cloudy, breezy morning any time. I mean, the temperature was only 78 at 7:30am instead of 85 like it was yesterday. I am sooo ready for fall. Maybe its a product of growing up in the Shenandoah Valley where fall is cool, the foliage is stunning and there is no feeling like a good campfire and a snugly hoody sweatshirt. I am convinced there is no better weather. Sure a nice tropical island is divine, but I love the fall. I love the smell of leaves and the taste of pumpkin ANYTHING; I love the cool nights and snuggling close... but I digress.


I am in quite a funk. I dont know if its my biweekly freakout about our lack of funds or my inability to get a job (God knows I'm sending out my resume to anyone and everyone), or if its just good old fashioned hormones. However, I knew my time in funkyville was limited when I saw that Max Brenner; Chocolate by the Bald Man opened up just a block and a half from my house! I think these words might be enough to drive this funk away, at least until the plate is empty and I'm running back to my Jillian Michaels workout dvd's...

Case of the Mondays

I'm quite sure I've posted with this title before, but somehow it just never fails to loose its relevancy. Today especially.

This weekend was pretty good, despite the not so fabulous (HOT & HUMID) weather. We got the laundry done ( a monumental task when you realized the machines are in the basement of the building and we have to plan ahead to make sure we have enough quarters...), and the grocery shopping done! I even planned our meals for the week, stuck to my list, and managed to make some more food for Aidan. I've really gotten into making Aidan's food and he seems to love the fresh veggies and fruit, plus...its SO much cheaper.

Additionally, I've realized making it to the gym might not happen for the next 20 yrs so I broke down and bough Jillian Michael's 30 day shred video. I also purchased 5 lb dumbells at 5Below (Thanks Ab!) and after making Mr. F promise he wouldnt laugh at me for doing an at home work out video, popped that sucker in and went for it. Now let me say this, I am not a fitness guru but I've always been pretty active and have even run the Marine Corps Marathon, but I did this video one time on the easiest workout and I'm still sore 2 days later. Hot Damn! I'm now going to look into selling my gym membership cause the $16 for the video and dumbbells is way cheaper than the gym I never make it too...

Last week I also had my job interview and while I looked fab in my new suit (thanks for the coupon to BR, Col!!) I was super nervous. Like, shaky and nauseous nervous, but I feel like I really nailed the interview. However, I am the first one they are interviewing (5 more people this week) and I'm not getting any calls back on the 15 (seriously, not an exaggeration) applications for admin jobs I've submitted. I'm really frustrated and worried. No one wants to hire someone with a masters degree to do admin work, but you know, I'm not afraid to work hard and am very professional. I can make copies like a champ! SOMEONE HIRE ME. ughhh.

Weekend Recap

I'm happy to report this year's family reunion measured up to previous years:) We had an easy drive down on Friday night and Aidan slept the WHOLE way! I think he was pretty snuggled in in his pj's and blanky. We'll def be doing the night drives from here on out. We arrive at 1am, an improvement from last year's 3am... :)

Of course Aidan was a huge hit and everyone was so impressed with his crawling and pulling up to standing and general all around adorableness.

And Uncle Kevin did not disappoint... its a blurry picture, but you get the idea with the armani tank top....

Of course, we're Italian so you know there were some super competitive Bocce games played
